Photojournalism Sequence

As it has become increasingly clear in recent years that the nature and execution of journalism is changing, faculty in the JPRNM department have realized the need for an emphasis within the major.

Students in all skills-based media photography courses become proficient in the use of applicable software including Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere. They learn to use effectively pro-level digital cameras, a wide variety of lenses, studio and on-location lighting to complete assignments that appear in a wide variety of multimedia settings including those through Baylor Student Publications.

Photography and Videography

The Photojournalism sequence is ideal for students who wish to concentrate on the visual side of journalism. Courses emphasize camera handling, editing, aesthetics, video storytelling and the use of state-of-the-art video editing software.
