Focus Magazine
“Working for Baylor Student Media not only gave me an opportunity to hone my writing and reporting skills, but provided me the chance to learn new skills such as: editing, photography and digital design. I was able to make connections and grow out of my shell through an enriching and supportive environment. To me, Baylor Focus Magazine was unquestionably the most character defining experience I’ve had at Baylor. Through Focus Magazine, I was encouraged to share stories that advocated for meaningful causes. Focus Magazine is a great creative outlet for anyone who wants to become more involved in both the Baylor and Waco communities, while improving their creative thinking skills.“

Focus Magazine is published once per semester. What began as an insert to The Lariat in 1993 became a standalone glossy magazine in 1997. The content in each issue revolves around one central theme.
As a student publication, it is devoted to bursting the “Baylor bubble” by examining the culture of Waco, Texas including the people, the places, and everything in between.
Focus Magazine is owned and published by Baylor University and produced through the Department of Student Media. The entire content of Focus Magazine is protected under the Federal Copyright Act. Reproduction of any portion of any issue by any means, mechanical or otherwise, is not permitted without the consent of Baylor University.
To be part of Focus Magazine, information can be found on the employment page of the website. Applications are accepted at the end of each semester.
