PRSSA: Public Relations Student Society of America
What is PRSSA?
Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a student-led organization dedicated to professional development in public relations, corporate communications and related fields. The organization exists to provide resources and support to students who want to pursue work in public relations. PRSSA holds monthly meetings in the form of networking opportunities, professional development workshops and lectures from field professionals and professors.
2025-2026 officers (from left): Jennifer Blanco Flores (Director of Membership Outreach), Renee Hays (Secretary), Zach Babajanof-Rustrian (President), Elizabeth Johnson (Vice President) and Nicole Lazlo (PR Director).
A strong academic background is the foundation for success in journalism, public relations and new media. Equally important are professional associations and networking. The purpose of PRSSA is:
- to provide public relations majors and students interested in PR with opportunities that expand their interests.
- to connect with a dedicated national association.
- to serve the community through public relations projects.
- to expand students' understanding of this growing profession.
