Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)
The Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) are the foundation for the assessment plan and reflect ACEJMC values and competencies.
If you want the table structure removed and the content converted to simple headings and text, it would look like this:
PLO 1. Media, Law, and Society
Students will understand U.S. legal and ethical principles of freedom of speech and press within a global context and work ethically to apply these principles in pursuit of truth, accuracy, fairness and service to all people and communities.
ACEJMC Value #1: Students will apply the principles and laws of freedom of speech and press, in a global context, and for the country in which the institution that invites ACEJMC is located.
ACEJMC Value #6: Students will demonstrate an understanding of professional ethical principles and work ethically in pursuit of truth, accuracy, fairness and service to all people and communities.
PLO 2. Advancing a Culturally Proficient Workforce
Students will analyze the multicultural history and institutional roles in shaping communication and apply culturally proficient communication practices that prepare them to collaborate with multicultural teams and understand global perspectives. Students demonstrate an understanding of a wide range of issues and viewpoints relevant to media communications in an interconnected world.

Curriculum instruction addresses a wide range of issues and viewpoints relevant to media communications in an interconnected world.
ACEJMC Value #2: Students will demonstrate an understanding of the multicultural history and role of professionals and institutions in shaping communications.
ACEJMC Value #3: Students will demonstrate culturally proficient communication that empowers those traditionally disenfranchised in society, especially as grounded in race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and ability, domestically and globally, across communication and media contexts.
PLO 3. Effective Written Communication
Students will produce writing that is clear, accurate, and appropriate for professional communication contexts and critically evaluate their own work and that of others for accuracy, fairness, clarity, style, and grammatical correctness.
ACEJMC Value #5: Students will write correctly and clearly in forms and styles appropriate for the communications professions, audiences, and purposes they serve.
ACEJMC Value #9: Students will critically evaluate their own work and that of others for accuracy and fairness, clarity, appropriate style, and grammatical correctness.
PLO 4. Research, Critical Thinking, and Strategic Decision-Making
Students will critically evaluate information and conduct research using methods appropriate to communication professions. They will also apply and interpret basic numerical statistical concepts accurately.
ACEJMC Value #7: Students will apply critical thinking skills in conducting research and evaluating information by methods appropriate to the communications professions in which they work.
ACEJMC Value #8: Students will effectively and correctly apply basic numerical and statistical concepts.
PLO 5. Technology and Professional Tools
Students will design and present visual messages effectively and creatively. They will also apply appropriate tools and technologies for communication professions in a digital environment.
ACEJMC Value #4: Students will present images and information effectively and creatively, using appropriate tools and technologies.
ACEJMC Value #10: Students will apply tools and technologies appropriate for the communications professions in which they work.
PLO 6. Professional Relationships and Career Readiness
Students will identify and implement strategies for building and maintaining professional relationships through interpersonal interactions and networking. They will also create a professional portfolio that showcases these skills and supports career readiness.
