The Baylor Lariat - Campus Newspaper
“I am the journalist that I am because of the Lariat. I mean, I practically lived in that newsroom. Not only was I able to gain real experience right away, I got to craft my skills as a writer, reporter, designer and photographer. Working for the Lariat allowed me to build confidence in those skills while also reminding me that I could always get better.”

The Baylor Lariat is a student run news platform that publishes in print, web, e-news and social media. The special print issues are distributed throughout the year, including Welcome Back, Homecoming, Family Weekend and All-University Sing. Thousands of copies are circulated in newsstands across campus.
The Lariat began printing in 1900 as The Varsity Lariat. Since, teams of reporters, editors, photographers and designers have come together to produce quality articles covering Baylor's many departments, campus-wide news as well as local, state, national and international news.
Now home to The Morning Buzz E-Newsletter, Lariat TV News and Don’t Feed the Bears Radio Podcast, the Lariat has grown to meet the eyes and ears of an audience over 40,000 people.
The student staff has won numerous awards for their strong journalistic presence on and off campus. The hard work and dedication of the students and staff continues to bring the followers, such as faculty, students and alumni, quality news and content that has led to these honors.
The experience students get working on the paper is a great way to learn about the newspaper and online news industry and network with other journalists.
