JPR&NM Study Abroad Program

We are pleased to share that a new Baylor JPR&NM Study Abroad program will begin this summer. This program will take students and faculty to Vienna, Austria. The program's theme is “Communicating with Global Audiences,” and it will run from May 26 to June 27, 2025, spanning five weeks.
To find out more, attend the following:
Café Castellaw: 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 in the second-floor hallway
Interest Meeting: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in the conference room
Interest Meeting: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19. in Castellaw 245
The program is designed to strike a perfect balance between academic rigor and enriching cultural activities. This approach will allow students to immerse themselves in Austria's unique culture fully. Vienna, the capital and most populous city of Austria, with just over two million inhabitants, has been named the most livable city in the world three years in a row. It is in Central Europe, between Germany, Italy, and Hungary.
Throughout the five-week Study Abroad Program, students can visit museums, cycle around Vienna, attend classical concerts, explore iconic landmarks, and visit Salzburg while examining global journalism, public relations, and new media.
Courses taught:
- Writing and Editing for Online Media: Mia Moody, Ph.D.
- Special Studies/Seminar in Mass Communication: Global Advertising & Public Relations: Marlene Neill, Ph.D.
- Gender, Race & Media: Mia Moody, Ph.D.
- PR Writing: Marlene Neill, Ph.D.
To provide flexibility for the program, we are willing to waive prerequisite courses and are open to students from other majors.
