2023 Baylor JPR&NM Alumni Homecoming
Baylor Journalism, Public Relations & New Media is pleased to have Andrea Kosar, a Baylor JPR&NM alum and president/CEO of the Centex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, as this year’s homecoming speaker.
The homecoming theme, “You can always come home again: The importance of community” focuses on her career journey.
The homecoming reception will be held from 3-4:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in room 245 of the Castellaw Communications Center. Kosar will speak at 3:30 p.m.
“Some colleagues and I heard Kosar speak at Baylor’s Hispanic Heritage luncheon event earlier this semester, and we thought she would be the perfect speaker for our homecoming reception,” Department Chair Mia Moody-Ramirez, PhD., said.
As a Baylor University graduate in public relations and education, Kosar gained experience in marketing and public relations working in local media. During her time at KXXV-Channel 25, she created a weekly segment, Positively Central Texas, where she told stories of Waco’s organizations and businesses doing good in the community.
Kosar is also an entrepreneur. She is the co-owner of Twisted Nail LLC., with her husband, Hunter Kosar. They are also investors in Artesano, a restaurant in Paraguay.
“Department faculty and staff are looking forward to seeing alumni and family members of all ages,” department undergraduate program director Elizabeth Bates said. “Homecoming is a great opportunity to catch up.”
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
